		<description>
	Hello. I’m Lauri Leponiemi, a 33-year-old guy from Tampere, Finland. I’m looking for my first job in software development. Most of my experience is in hobbyist/student projects in game development with Unity and C#. Here I have 8 such projects, which I think are the most important / most interesting that I have worked on. I have a few more up on my itch.io page and my GGJ page.

Swift: Galaxy Trails

This is a game I worked on during a three month work try-out in Brakesoft Ltd in early 2021.
Swift: Galaxy Trails is a 3D action runner. Set in a sci-fi world, the player runs through multiple levels set in various environments collecting tasty seeds and avoiding obstacles. Every now and then they will face a boss fight, needing to dodge projectiles shot their way and then shooting back. The game also has crafting, daily rewards and in-app purhaces.
Made in a large team of varying size. I worked on implementing a boss fight.
Looks like it’s no longer up in the stores, but HERE is a page about it.

Last Habitat: Deep Sea Defense

The longest I’ve worked on a game. We worked on it for about half a year, finishing in spring 2018.Last Habitat is a tower defense game set in a post-apocalyptic world, where the last of humanity has moved underwater. Mutated giant fish will come at your colony in waves, and you must defend it by building defensive towers around the path the fish use.Done in a team of five, I focused on level design, programming the tower functionalities, integrating animations, implementing the endless level and doing the Google Play integration for achievements.
The game used to be available on Google Play, but as it was on our schools account, it seems to have been removed by now.Downloads in Drive

Routine Inc.

Made in Global Game Jam 2018. My first take on Virtual Reality, made for HTC Vive.Routine Inc. is a simple puzzle game. You have a remote control you can use to transmit a pre-determined set of instructions to one of the vehicles you can see below you. The goal is to get one of them to stop on the green tile.This game was made in a team of two, with sounds and the vehicle 3D-model made by people helping all teams. I worked on the controls and the environment around the player. Even made the 3D-model for the computer screens next to the player.See the GGJ-site or just Download.

Boom

Made in a “4 weeks, 4 games, + 4 weeks, one game” summer course in 2017. This was the final, 4 weeks long game project.
Boom is a Doom-clone. You find yourself in a hellish dungeon with floating half-skeletons shooting fireballs at you, and an array of weaponry just waiting for you to find it. There are 3 levels, a couple more enemies and a boss at the end.
This game was made in a team of five. I worked on the enemy AI and movement, the pickups and the menu, and I was kind of a mentor to the others as this course was their first time using Unity.

Highway Fever

Made in the first Game Makers Toolkit Jam, summer 2017. Highway Fever is an action endless runner. You drive a futuristic motorcycle and are attacked by waves of enemies. The theme was Dual-Purpose Design, and thus the controls do different things depending on context and pickups give a small buff / debuff in addition to the resource they give.This game I did alone. Art, gameplay, AI, UI. Didn’t have time to do/find sounds tough.See the itch.io page or just Download.
